Improv Techniques for the Gaming Table
Wheel Tree Press is proud to present Improv Techniques for the Gaming Table, a series of workshops to help roleplaying gamers take their tabletop experience to the next level!  Each session combines an intensive workshop of improv techniques used by actors on stage with a practical example of play at the gaming table.  Our instructors not only have extensive performance and teaching backgrounds, but also well-established nerd credentials. Expand your roleplaying horizons with skills to create kickass characters, establish meaningful relationships and develop stories that sing.  Great for both GMs and players!

The workshop will take place at the Raven Theatre (6157 N. Clark Street, Chicago, IL).

Saturday, October 20th
Cinematic Scenework
1:30pm - 5:30pm
Instructor:  Greg Inda

Bring the excitement and action of the movies from the screen straight to your scenes at the table! This class focuses on visuals and how to bring them into your game as a player or game master. Rather than explaining who your characters are, show it! Let your actions speak for themselves!

About Greg Inda
Greg Inda has studied, performed, and directed improv at Comedysportz, The Playground, The Annoyance, and Second City for over 20 years. He is also an avid gamer, playing table top RPGs including D&D, CoC, Vampire, Fiasco, Apocalypse World, and many more. In 2002, Greg started work on a show called Neutrino Project: The Instant Movie and served as the technical director for its initial run and many revivals. The Neutrino Project featured an improvised movie based on an audience suggestion that was filmed as it was being played (on a two minute delay). With several camera teams running around Chicago and a tight make or break deadline, scenes had to "show" rather than "tell". When combined with RPGs this same approach focuses on action, and using visual language to get across complex characterizations and concepts.
